What's wrong, whats wrong now?
Too many, too many problems.
Don't know where she belongs, where she belongs.
She wants to go home, but nobody's home.
That's where she lies, broken inside.
With no place to go, no place to go, to dry her eyes.
Broken inside.

Word Count: around 5000

Disclaimer: The characters are not mine, they belong to Marvel comics and Joss Whedon and Ed Brubaker and, I suppose, Chris Claremont, and are used for entertainment purposes only.

Sometimes things can feel so incredibly right you have to do them and at the same time, in retrospect, be monumentally stupid. And then, before you can explain, or try to set things right--you get blindsided by reality.
--Rachel Summers, Uncanny X-Men 471

Each time you wake, there's this delicious, liminal moment...when you're not quite sure yet what's real and what's still a dream. How do I tell the difference? My dreams have happy endings.

Now on to the rest of our introduction . . .
Jack and I are gay, Pagan males who are very much in love with each other and who write both together and seperately.  He considers himself more of an

actor, reacting in fics as his character, or characters, would do, but I think of myself as a true writer, an artist of words if you will.  Between the two of us, we

have written nearly 200 stories, drabbles, and poems in over 35 fandoms, but our longest and most loved story remains the one that always seems to get

the least reviews.
That tale is a journey that is very close to our hearts and is a series of going on 6 books.  It all began with Love on the High Seas #1: Bright Promises of

Tomorrow wherein both new and old characters come together in an orgy of romance, daring, piracy, action, adventure, and the Supernatural.  In the first

book that we hope you will take a look at at http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3033866/1/Love_on_High_Seas_1_Bright_Promises_of_Tomorrow , Captain Jack

Sparrow arrives with his crew of humans, Werewolves, Demons, mutants, Vampires, cat people, a Gnome, a certain talking cat, and others to Port Royal to

celebrate the wedding of his own love, Will Turner, to Elizabeth Swann.  The adventure soon begins when he discovers that his beloved Will has been sold

into Port Royal's underground black market.  Meanwhile, Lorne gets bitten in the rear end and risks losing his heart in the process, First Mate Angel

encounters Princess Cordelia who is on the run from her own father's guards, and Faith, the self-proclaimed Virgin Slayer, finally meets some one who might

be able to slay her cold heart.  Elsewhere on the isle, a group of Witches consisting of the Halliwell family; their godmother, Ororo Munroe; Elvira, Mistress

of the Dark; and fledgling Scientist Winifred Burkle is on the run from a mob of prejudiced Christians with no hope of escape until some of the Pirates take it

upon themselves to stand between them and the Christians.  We hope you will take a look, and if you do and like what you read, please, please review.
We also would like to ask you to vote for our dear, sweet boy King Jackeesy, who is the real life persona of one of our characters in the series, King

Meesy.  He has entered a beauty contest and may be voted for at http://www.bissell.com/redirect.asp?page_id=47088&Pet=7476.jpg .  Please vote for him!

:-)
Now one of the things we find that is always asked on every list and message board we come across is what fandoms, ships, etc. the newcomers enjoy.

We warn you that our list is very long and that, even now, more fandoms, such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Night at the Museum, NeoPets, and the

Barbie movies -- no, they're definitely not just for kids! --, come to mind.  If you make it all the way through the list, there'll be a little welcoming present at the

end.  :-)
Thank you for welcoming us into your community ahead of time, and please remember to review for feedback truly is the only pay an author of fan fiction

gets!  Please, too, remember to vote for our boy!  :-)

Title: Tubular Bells
Author: resolute
Fandom: X-Men comics
Character: Rachel Summers-Grey
Rating: PG, or Teen? I can't tell! Umm, it's a little dark?
Notes: Thank you to sionnain for the beta. This is written for the muse_bsides comm, where people write, well, song fic, for a character. The title is from the song "Tubular Bells," which is better known as "the theme song from the Exorcist." It contains one clear line, "Mother, make it stop."
Summary: Rachel is a child, experimenting with her beginning powers. Set before the Sentinels raze the school.

Cut to fic.

Title: Tell me why nothing is good enough . . .
Author: resolute
Fandom: Marvel Comics, X-Men titles
Spoilers: This specifically spoils Uncanny X-Men titles from the 1980s, X-Factor Annual #5, and the Uncanny X-Men tpb "Death of Greys."
Author's Note: Thanks to sionnain for the beta!

Written for idol_reflection, a comm devoted to trying to explain why we can't leave some characters alone, but worry at them like terriers who have found a particularly vexious rathole. :)

Name: resolute
Title: Force of Nature

Pairing: Emma Frost and Rachel Grey, with reference to canon relationships and implied Kitty/Rachel.
Rating: NC-17. Dominance and submission, angst, borderline consent issues, references to past violence and trauma, oh, and girl-on-girl sex.

Fandom: Current X-men Comic-verse, specifically Astonishing X-Men and Uncanny X-Men. After “Dangerous” in AXM and “End of Greys” in UXM.
Notes, Warnings, and Caveats: This does not include any reference to AXM 13-18, mostly because at the time of this writing I don’t know how that ends. This story takes place in the same fanfic universe as my previous AXM story, Unresolved Issues, and occurs some unspecified time after that story. This story refers to events in End of Greys.

Hey there, my dormant little community. ;) I have some fanart to share with you today. Hope you enjoy it.

she's Marvel . . . Phoenix?

my inevitable schmoopy femslash

Cheers. And while we're at it, let's have cheers for Ed Brubaker, who is about to take over Rachel's story in the next issue of Uncanny X-Men. I have high hopes; things have been so blah, change is good. (He was damn great on Catwoman, anyway. I was a fan.)

In the interest of promoting the reading/writing of Rachel fan fiction:

Starting now, each week you'll be given a fanfic prompt with the suggested length of 100-800 words. You are, of course, welcome to exceed that limit and we would still love to see whatever you come up with. Along with a drabble prompt, I may also suggest a secondary character to be in the story. The only thing you're required to follow would be the prompt and everything else is optional. There are no guidelines and you're welcome to write whatever comes to mind upon reading the prompt.

First prompt - secrets, 100-800 words, due by next week.

- suggested secondary character: Kitty Pryde or Scott Summers

One sort of huge scan, no thumbnail. There isn't much explanation needed, as it's all there, but it's one of my favorite moments with my favorite character, and I thought I'd share. x-posted to my own journal and scans_daily.

Isn't there a rule about redheads *wearing* red?Collapse )

Hey, I made a couple icons from the Uncanny previews, and what better place to share them, right? There's more at my icon journal, but I haven't posted these yet, so ummm.. advance screening? Who knows. ;) (overbombing is my icon dump, by the way.)

Hey folks, you should really head over to Buzzscope and check out their preview of Uncanny X-Men #466, which is out next week . . . the start of the "End of Greys" plotline. It's all about Rachel, and it looks amazing.
